Gloucester Triumph Sports Six Club

One of the great benefits of belonging to local groups such as the Gloucester TSSC is the wealth of Members' knowlege of local tradesmen and suppiers  - the good, the bad and those who shouldn't be touched with a bargepole.  Members of our Group have had positive experiences of those listed below - though please bear in mind that tradesmen can have bad days as well as good, and not everyone's experience is going to be the same.  A mention on this list does not infer a recommendation by this Group or any of its members.  If in doubt ask a question on our Facebook Page.

Triumph Spares is a small business located in rural Worcestershire run by Dave Saunders.  They have a huge stock of new and secondhand parts for classic cars from the Triumph marque and, as well as supplying parts to enthusiasts, repairs and restorations are also undertaken. In addition, complete cars are also available for classic car enthusiasts to buy.  They have a website at www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~ngo/345222.htm and you can get them on the phone on 01905 345595

Several of our Gloucester TSSC members have good words to say about ACG Auto Repairs of Cheltenham.  In addition to providing a full range of repair services they also offer MOT Testing and are experienced in dealing with classic cars.  Apparently one of the directors used to own a Herald 13/60, so they should know their way around Triumphs!  Their website can be found at www.acgautorepairsltd.co.uk and they can be contacted on on 01242 519915 or by emailing info@acgautorepairs.co.uk

I have been really impressed by the quality trimming work carried out by David Barker of Classic Trimming, based in Faringdon.  From minor modifications and repairs to complete re-trims he will undertake work on upholstery, carpets, headlinings, tonneaus and soft tops to a wide range of vehicles, especially classic cars.  Take a look at his website at www.classictrimming.net or contact him at classictrimming@gmail.com  or 07795 023860.

Tony Williams Bodyshop in Malvern have done work on Triumphs belonging to several members of Gloucester TSSC.   The bodyshop is owned and operated by RetroMarques Ltd, a local classic car specialist, with particular expertise in, and a passion for, dealing with aspects of body and paint work on classic cars.  Their website can be found at www.tonywilliamsbodyshop.co.uk and they can be contacted on 01684 560106 or by email at enquiries@tonywilliamsbodyshop.co.uk

I discovered the Polite Bodyshop about 18 months ago when I was looking for someone to do a complete 'back to bare metal' respray on the body of my MK3 GT6.  Although they also do 'moderns' they specialise in classic cars and have all the traditional skills needed to rebuild rusty bodywork and finish to a high standard.  I found their rates to be reas0nable, the quality of their work to be good and Jan, the boss, is very approachable.  They're based on the old Morelands Match Factory site in the centre of Gloucester and Jancan be contacted on 01452 414100 or 07871 261460 or by emailing politeautobodyshop@yahoo.co.uk
